Format and Means

A one-and-a-half-hour level test

The first three components can be done in a group format. The speaking test is done in pairs, following the format of the Cambridge English speaking tests, with pairs selected according to the results of the first three parts.

Experienced International House teachers

The tests are administered and assessed by a select group of three or four experienced International House teachers and trainers, ensuring the validity and reliability of the testing process.

Results

Each student is placed into a band on the CEF framework, easily comparable to the International House World level system, and receives a summary of their skills and language abilities according to the ALTE can-do statements:

The results are sent to the Human Resources department within 10 working days of the tests.
